Shooting

The Zilizi shooting range offers the possibility of practice shooting with shotguns at flying targets in the following disciplines: Universal Trap, Double Trap, Mini Trap and Fintello.

Hobby

Sports shooting with a shotgun is a hobby that has a tradition in our country.

About shooting range

The Zilizi shooting range was built in 1998 by self-help thanks to enthusiasts for this sport. In the early days, practice shootings as well as public shooting competitions were held here. In 2001, the championship of the Slovak Republic was held at the shooting range in the Universal Trap discipline. For the next few years, the shooting range was used for practice in general, but also by competitive hunting organizations and the Shotgun Shooting Club of Šaľa.

Support

The support of shooting sports is important for the current and future generation of competitive shooters, and that is why we are glad to be a part of it. The operator of the shooting range is the Shooting sports club - ZILIZI.

Youth in shooting sports.

It is important for us to develop the talent of beginning shooters. That is why we are always happy to have the opportunity to pass on experience and knowledge about sports shooting to young shooters.

Since 1998

Sport shooting club ZILIZI was founded as a sports organization bringing together voluntarily registered members.
The club is registered at the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, file number: VVS/1-900/90-14234. The main task of the club is to bring together those interested in shotgun shooting with the possibility of practice shooting for members club at the shooting range in Tešedíkovo.

At the shooting range, we offer the possibility of practice clay pigeon shooting in the discipline of Universal Trap, Double Trap, Mini Trap and Sporting.

When shooting at the shooting range, safety and compliance with the rules of sport shooting and etiquette are our priority.

SAFETY & ETIQUETTE

Safety

Safety can never be stressed too much, and a firearm should always be treated as loaded unless seen to be different. You, the individual, become the safety catch of all firearms and everything else on the firearm becomes a mechanical device. It is therefore essential that safe firearm handling becomes the first rule for all participants.
1. Treat any firearm with the respect due to a loaded gun.
2. Never point a firearm in fun or jest.
3. Carry the firearm so that you can control the barrel even if you stumble.
4. Become the safety catch of the firearm.
5. Load the firearm only when it is your turn to shoot.
6. Always unload when the red flag is shown or at the referee’s command.
7. Ensure you have the correct calibre cartridge for the gun in use.
8. Do not play with or modify firearm mechanisms.
9. If a firearm misfires keep the barrels to the front and wait for the referee.
10. Firearms and alcohol do not, and never will, mix.

Shooting Etiquette – Competition & Practice

1. Club Presidents and Committees are honorary, they respect your constructive criticism and expect your assistance and cooperation.
2. When in competition it is your responsibility to ascertain your squad and layout and be on time.
3. Make sure you have enough ammunition ready for the shooting round.
4. While on the tracks, respect the other shooters’ rights to perform without interference.
5. In the Trap discipline, do not move from your track until the shooter on your right has shot. Always unload your weapon after firing so that the chamber(s) are empty. Do not load an open weapon until you move to your next position and keep it open until it is your turn. Unload after shooting station five before returning to station one. Only close your gun when it is your turn to shoot.
6. Remain on the layout in your shooting track until the last shooter has finished.
7. Dress in a neat, clean and tidy manner. When shooting, wear a shooting vest designed for shotgun disciplines. This includes no camouflage clothing.
8. Wear closed-toe sports shoes. Summer shoes such as sandals, flip-flops, etc. are not allowed!
9. While shooting, protect your hearing by using noise suppressors and your eyesight by using shooting glasses.
10. Always respect the referee’s and/or the range officer’s decisions.

TRENCH

Technical equipment.

The Zilizi shotgun shooting range is equipped with fully automatic throwers of the Olympic Trap type from Mattarelli, located in the trench. The shooting stands are covered by a full shelter with dimensions of 15m x 6.5m, providing the shooters protection from the sun or rain. The distance between the trench and the shooting stands is 15m. The throwing of targets is controlled using the Multi-Pull EP095M automatic voice control unit from the manufacturer Elettronica Progetti. The results of the shooting round are processed and continuously displayed on the shooting range using a monitor. The main shooting direction is oriented to the north-northwest, which ensures optimal visibility of targets throughout the day.

Ecology

It is important for us that environmentally friendly methods and means are used to achieve clean operation at the shooting range.

To reach this goal, we use environmentally friendly targets from the manufacturer Eurotarget. They are made of new, environmentally friendly materials and fully replace the classic "Asphalt" used until now.
